There’s a cute case with black-and-white dots and pink edges. My kid is a little creeped out by “Mama’s” firey red eyes, so I’ll be passing on this deal. Also this week save $5 on SpongeBob Yellow Avenger for DS. And many DS games (such as Hello Kitty Party and various Petz and Imagine cartridges) are buy one, get one half-off and a few are buy three, get one free.

Toys R Us has announced a three-day sale on the Nintendo DS Lite that makes the gaming system only $64.99 when purchased as part of the Ready To Play DS Lite Pack totaling. The pack costs $157.95 is available in stores and at ToysRus.com while supplies last. It includes a DS Lite starter kit, Neoprene case and two game cartridges selected from a list of eligible games. The sale begins Friday, Nov. 20 and ends Sunday, Nov. 22. Also, DS games are buy one, get one half off.

Zenses on Sale at Toys R Us

The Zenses puzzle games (both Rainforest and Ocean versions) for Nintendo DS are on sale for $19.99 at Toys R Us, a $10 savings. The sale runs through February 28.

Toys R Us is having another two-day sale, with this one running Tuesday and Wednesday Dec. 9 and 10. There’s a Nintendo DS Lite bundle for $151.97. You get the console color of your choice, Nerf Armor and one of the following games: Madagascar Escape 2 Africa, Kung Fu Panda or Shrek’s Carnival Craze. There’s only a bit of Nintendo DS in this contest, but also some Wii and Xbox and plenty of toys so I thought I’d give it a mention. Starting today, Dec. 5, through Dec. 15, Toys R Us is holding its Hot Holiday Toy Giveaway. Each day, visit www.ToysRUsHotHolidayGiveaway.com, where 40 winners will take home one of a selection of prizes. (You can enter each day, and it’s an instant win matching game thingie.) And everyone who plays is entered in a grand prize drawing for a Top 10 Hottest Toys Prize Pack. There are eight prizes featured per day, and on Dec. 8 one of them is Cooking Mama 2 for Nintendo DS (which, by the way, if you’re reading this on Dec. 5 or 6, is half off at Toys R Us today). On Dec. 13, the DS game Backyard Football is on there.

“I stayed up late for this?” is what I’d be saying if I didn’t stay up late anyway. The Toys R Us Cyber Monday sale looks more like a chance to unload leftover Ashley Tisdale dolls and Lost figurines. But perhaps I’m being too harsh: If you want Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or Hot Wheels: Beat That for Nintendo DS, they’re each half off at $14.99. I actually would have sprung for the half-off, $14.99 Yoshi Lunchbox Starter Kit for DS, but it was immediately out of stock. Fortunately, I have high hopes for TRU’s Sunday sales.

Toys R Us has been having sales on Fridays and Saturdays this holiday season. The latest deal for Nov. 21-22 includes the following Nintendo DS games (regularly $19.99) for $9.99: Rain Drops, Rock Blast, Underground Pool and Underwater attack.

Let’s Yoga for Nintendo DS $9.98 at Toys R Us

Toys R Us has Let’s Yoga, the Nintendo DS cartridge by Konami, on sale for $9.98. (The list price is $29.99 but it’s widely available for half that.) Let’s Yoga came out almost a year ago and got good reviews. But the Nintendo DS yoga selection has widened since then, with the addition of Quick Yoga Training from UbiSoft in May 2008. With Let’s Pilates reportedly getting the seal of approval from Angelina Jolie and the increasing popularity of the DS Lite with women, it’s likely more fitness-themed titles for Nintendo DS are in the works from a variety of gamemakers.

Toys R Us DS Value Pack sale Nov. 9-15

Toys R Us has a package deal available this week: For $154.97, buy the Nintendo DS Lite (any color) and choose one of four select games as well as a DS trifold case with stylus. Retail value is $179.97. The games are: Wall-E, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Pokemon Rangers Shadow of Almia and Tinkerbell. Not a bad deal, if you or someone on your gift list wants one of those games.

A word to the wise about value packs, or any buy 1-get 1 deals and things like that: Don’t buy into the bundle or deal thinking you can game the system by returning what you don’t want later. In almost all cases, they’ll just readjust the price and you’ll lose your savings.

Toys R Us Doorbusters sale features 4 $11.99 DS titles

None of these are on my wishlist but I thought I’d mention that Toys R Us’s Doorbusters sale for Nov. 7-8 includes four Nintendo DS games for $11.99 each. They are: Soul Bubbles, Ben 10: Protector of Earth, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords and Naruto: Ninja Council 3. This is also the weekend to get Dragonite for free. Keep an eye on these Doorbusters sales, because retailers like Toys R Us are doing everything they can this holiday season to get people in the stores, buying stuff.
