The generous gaming community raises a lot of money each year for Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity, which, since 2003, has contributed more than $3.5 million in donations of toys, games, books and money for kids in children’s hospitals throughout the U.S.
There are many ways to donate, but I’d like to link to the efforts of the CheapAssGamer site users, because that’s where I heard about it, and last year CheapAssGamers raised more than $27,000 for the cause, which is pretty darn cool. Also cool: Donors are entered in a raffle for all kinds of gaming prizes, including gift cards, DS games and Nintendo DS consoles! The fundraiser goes through Dec. 30. (Actually, the fund raising is ongoing; the raffle ends the 30th.)
