GameStop Sale on Mario Kart DS and Ubisoft Games

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

The new GameStop ad lists deals running from Jan. 23-Jan. 29. Mario Kart DS, regularly $39.99, is on sale for $34.99. And many Ubisoft games regularly priced at $29.99 are $19.99, including My Spanish Coach, Petz games, Prince of Persia, Endwar and Shaun White Snowboarding. Some used DS games are also discounted. GameStop is also having a contest where you can win all of the top eight games of 2008. Go to www.gamestop.com/top8 to enter. You can also vote for the year’s best games on each gaming platform, including Nintendo DS.

GameStop and Game Crazy Sales

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Through Jan. 22, GameStop has Guinness World Records the Videogame for $19.99, regularly $29.99. And at Game Crazy, “Games for Girls” (the Imagine, Petz and Ener-G series) are $19.99, but that deal ends today (Jan. 17). However, the same ad states that Ubisoft DS titles are $19.99 through Jan. 24, and that would seem to include the aforementioned Games for Girls as well as the pictured titles Gourmet Chef, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Quick Yoga Training.

GameStop Ad and Coupon

Friday, January 9th, 2009

If you subscribe to the GameStop newsletter, check your email, because today they mailed out their weekly ad along with a coupon granting $5 in extra trade value if you trade in a Wii or Nintendo DS game. The deal as well as the sales are good through Jan. 15. There’s also been a $10 drop in price on the DS game Syberia, making it $19.99. You can sign up for the free GameStop newsletter at www.gamestop.com/email. You can also find a list of Nintendo DS game trade-in values at the site. For example (not counting the $5 bonus), Mario Kart DS is worth $16 and Kirby Super Star Ultra is worth $12. New Super Mario Bros. is worth $18, but who would give that up?

GameStop Will Have Cyber Monday Deals

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Starting Monday, Dec. 1 at one minute after midnight Eastern Standard Time, GameStop is participating in Cyber Monday with several deals. But they won’t say what the deals are until then. Teases. Select games will be $10 to $20 off, but the only DS game pictured in the ad is Wall-E.

Also on Cyber Monday, “Value Shipping” will be free, up to $20 off. Select games and downloads are up to 50 percent off. The deals are online-only (it wouldn’t be Cyber Monday without the cyberspace) and continue throughout the day while supplies last. They say, “GameStop Holiday Economic Bailout Underway.” I’ll post more when GameStop coughs up its ad, or when it’s leaked.

GameStop DS Lite bonus with purchase

Build a Bear

Build a Bear

At GameStop, the weekly sales start on Fridays. Today through Nov. 27, if you purchase a new Nintendo DS plus a new game, you get a “fashion sleeve” free. ($9.99 value.) They look like cell phone cases, with a flap folding over the top, and the ones pictured in the ad look quite girly with knit and fabric designs.

Also, GameStop has the Build-a-Bear Workshop game marked down to $14.99, regularly $19.99. I actually have this game, which I bought on sale somewhere else to play with my 4-year-old. He likes the part where you follow the instructions to cook up a dish for your bear. I just want to dress my bear and play the mini games, but we always end up “cooking.”

Animal Crossing on sale used at GameStop

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Animal Crossing: Wild World

The Wii world is all abuzz with talk of that platform’s latest release, Animal Crossing: City Folk. But this week Nintendo DS users can get a taste of the fun simulation game with used copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World marked down to $19.99 (regularly $24.99 used and $24.99 new). The deal is good through Nov. 20. A worker at my local GameStop told me they don’t reset the used games before selling them, so you may end up with a copy in which many of the features have been “unlocked.” Or, if you’d rather start fresh, you can reset the game. GameStop is also taking reservations for Iron Chef America.
