This week, I want to point out that just because a Nintendo DS game is listed in a retailer’s sales circular doesn’t mean it’s on sale. So, if you want a good deal, please check suggested retail prices before buying.
Toys R Us has a buy one, get one 50 percent off sale this week on all video games priced at $19.99. That category includes MillionHeir, Brain Age, CrosswordsDS, Cooking Mama, Clubhouse Games, Personal Trainer: Cooking and more. Or, buy any Nintendo DS game priced at $29.99 or more and get $10 off another one at that price point. There’s also a DS bundle offer: $159.97 for console, pink or purple starter kit, plus one of three select games marketed to young girls. On Sunday and Monday Dec. 7 and 8 only, select Guitar Hero, Rockband and Hello Kitty accessories for the DS are 25 percent off.
Kmart is offering a DS starter kit ($24.50 value) free with the purchase of a DS console and one of four popular games. There’s a sweet Mario DS backpack for $14.99, as well as a variety of accessories on sale.
Target highlights several games in its ad this week, but most are at their regular prices. Nintendo DS starter kits with a Hannah Montana or High School Musical theme are on sale for $28. The Psyclone starter kit is $16.
At Best Buy, there’s a DS Lite bundle with console, folio case ($10.99 value) and choice of Brain Age 2 or MillionHeir for $144.99. Also, you can save $10 on several DS games including Kung Fu Panda. Lock’s Quest, High School Musical and Monster Lab.
Circuit City‘s free $9.99 value mini purse or case with purchase of DS Lite console is back. Also, Super Mario 64 DS is $23.99, a 20 percent savings.
