And many Ubisoft games regularly priced at $29.99 are $19.99, including My Spanish Coach, Petz games, Prince of Persia, Endwar and Shaun White Snowboarding. Some used DS games are also discounted. Someone at The Game Factory must have been reaching out to the mommy bloggers, because there are quite a few Zenses giveaways going on right now. I’ve already posted a couple of them, but here are some more giving away one or both games. Please check out the sites for full details on how to enter (It usually involves commenting on the blog or promoting it in some way). You can also hear moms’ takes on the $29.99 puzzle game that’s targeted to women over 25. Zenses, released in late October 2008, is billed as “active relaxation,” with games sold with either a Rainforest and Ocean theme. (Currently, Zenses: Ocean Edition or the Rainforest edition is $27.99 at Amazon.) They’re designed to be played for a few minutes or hours, depending on your time and inclination. The games feature “ambient soundscapes” that are also available as an MP3 soundtrack for free download on the Game Factory Web site.

Game Candy Magazine Gives Away Girl Games

Game Candy Magazine, which is published by game maker Ubisoft and distributed at Game Crazy stores and by free subscription, takes a closer look at games aimed toward young girls. (Of course, plenty of grownups enjoy the Petz games). Along with quizzes and activities, there are tips that tie into the Energ-G games as well as the Imagine “career” games. Ubisoft also licenses Petz-themed cases, animal plush and other merchandise. Right now, Game Candy Magazine is giving away free games to an unnamed number of readers who send in a reply card or sign up at www.gamecandymagazine.com/toys/.

Update: A couple of DS Diva readers have written in to ask how to subscribe to the magazine. DSDiva.com is actually not affiliated with Game Candy Magazine. It’s put out by Ubisoft. But if you go to the Game Candy Web site (just click on that link) you can sign up with them, or pick up a copy at Game Crazy and look for a subscription card. Thanks!
